My teenage daughter has turned me on to a few books in my life, including the entire
Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, and the
Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordon. And most recently, she highly recommended a book by new authors Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl called "Beautiful Creatures". It was great timing when she recommended this book because I just finished the Percy Jackson series. So by the time I was on page 2, I was hooked. It's a wonderful gothic journey taking you through flash backs and memories of the deep south during the civil war era and to present day. This is the first collaborative work by these two authors, and has already been on the best sellers list and is in the process of being make into a movie. It makes a great summer read for the entire family, we give it our two shopping bags of approval!
